Important ordering information

1/4"scale, 1:48, On30

NBC, NC, NBH, NBHC, NAB(NAC), NBB(NB)

The complication arises from the fact that various coaches ran with variations in design over the years, and in addition the situation was further muddied by the fact that designations changed over time.

We stand to be corrected - the historical changes are not our forte - but as an example we understand that NBs became NBBs which became NABs, which became NACs etc. etc. Or maybe vice versa! In addition over time window configurations changed in some coaches as well as the fact that some coaches were sheeted over

It is therefore very important that you check the drawings and descriptions below and order using THE DESIGNATIONS WE HAVE USED, AND USE THE CODE NUMBERS, please.

If you would like a variation....ones we have identified at this stage this refer to the NBC, NC and NBB. These variations are on separate etches and are not charged extra, but included with the kit at our standard price, but only if requested at time of ordering. To offer this pricing we exchange the various parts. If ordered later then there will be a standard etching and handling charge. Another option is that we can offer the separate "alternative" sheet at extra cost. Contact us for further details.

ALSO, we offer decals that are for stencilled OR bold lettering. This should also be specified.

Kit designations / variation etc.:

NBC

This is the side profile of the coach. Variations exist as to the windows on the end.
This is the Current end. Each window a different size. This is the "standard" kit and is that supplied unless otherwise requested.Code No. NBC/C
This is the Early period end, as seen on very old phototgraphs. There are no end windows.Code No. NBC/E
This is the Mid-period version, windows the same size. Code No. NBC/M

NC

This is the side profile of the coach. Variations exist as to sides and ends that were fully sheeted over. The "standard" kit supplied unless otherwise requested is a shown here on the left fully planked. The sheeted version is supplied with ends and side plain, as per examples below.

Planked end, Code No. NC/P
Sheeted end, Code No. NC/S

NBH and NBHC

NBH on the left, followed by the NBHC

Both variants are on the same etch; there is really no need to specify which is required. Code No. NBH

NAB

This is the model we identify as the NAB. It is has been redesignated, so we believe, as the NAC in recent time, though we have also seen photographs on the internet describing it as the NBB. Our NAB can be identified by the fact that there is a central window, the toilet window. You'll also note that not all compartment doors have windows on either side, i.e. they do not have facing seating. If you want this profile coach then order the Code No. NAB

NBB

This is our NBB, though at some time in it's life it was known as the NB, so we believe. There were also sheeted variants. The "standard" kit supplied, unless otherwise requested is the fully planked version. You'll also note that all compartments are symmetrical. If you want this profile coach then order the NBB.

Planked end, Code No. NBB/P
Sheeted end, Code No. NBB/S
