The daily mail service on the Wangaratta to Whitfield (NG) line was provided by a Postal Trolley. The exact type of trolley varied over the years, at one time even being a ganger's type trolley. In 1941 a trolley was designed and built at Newport Workshops and this is the subject of this kit from Steam And Things.

Although a specific one-off prototype - we feel that this type of vehicle will look "at home" on many NG layouts in 1:48, whether VR based or not. It would look even quainter on a 1:43.5, 7mm layout!!

For those not acquainted with the prototype, the "O scale" model of the trolley is some 40mm long and 30mm wide and is about 40mm high from track level. The trailer is about the same length and only 25mm wide. The gauge is 16.5mm.
