These show progress progress to date; to test efficacy of design concepts, errors in drawings etc.
A = underframe, can be built to early (low slung) or later version
B = early version (low slung) - the body is made up from one fold up piece
C & D = body from both sides, short length and full length side doors
E = trailer that ran with both versions - note layered etch to give planks on frame
F = trailer wll have false floor, with etched out planks
G = total consist!! lots of work still needed!
Photos H through to M show test fitting of motor and gearbox. You'll note there is not much (read - none!) room for internal
detail. Whether or not there will be room for the flywheel yet remains to be seems; after we have done the test shots
of the one piece whitemetal roof (scheduled for end of June).
H = internal view from above
I = view from below
J = side view #1
K = side view #2
L = end view, gearbox end
M = end view, flywheeel end
N = pickups fitted; these are the 2 phospor-bronze strips resting on the wheels either side of the motor
O = as above, side view
The two side views show what will be seem through the windows. The "non-removeable" construction panels show that if modelled
with the blinds down a lot of the mechanism will be hidden from view. Of course a conveniently placed figure will also hide
a lot. Thought may be given to having dirty windows!
The two end views show a double floor showing through the grill opening. The floor will be double (in 0.5mm nickel silver),
the lower one being the chasssis unit with motor etc, whilst the upper is fixed in such a place as to give you the two
different body ride heights
