ROTHER VALLEY RAILWAY (K & ESR) BRAKE VAN (HURST NELSON)
Hundred of Manhood & Selsey Tramways

This brake van was built by Hurst Nelson for the Rother Valley Railway, presumably in the late 1890's. Two were supplied
and were run with both passenger and goods trains. Note the side loading doors. One van was sold to the Selsey Tramway.
The kit is complete per our usual specification and of course includes both RVR, K&ESR and HMST transfers, though if
the vans even ran with K&ESR or HMST lettering is a moot point!

7mm Kit specification is as follows:
Etched brass in 0.3mm (12thou) and 0.5mm (20thou)
External framing formed from 2 layers of 0.5mm material
Castings supplied for buffers, springs and axles boxes to correct Hurst Nelson design
Additional castings include vacuum cylinder parts, brake shoes and vacuum hoses
3-link couplings (our own product) are also included, as is wire (3 sizes), nuts, bolts and screws
The option of using a rocking W-iron is also included, the rocking W-iron being a product of ours
Decals, of our own production, for RVR, K&ESR and HMST are also included
Internal detailing - this is in the form of simple etches and includes seating, partition, desk,
shelf etc. where appropriate
Comprehensive instructions with drawings and photographs of the prototype are included, including on CD
4mm and 3.5mm Kit specification is as follows:
Etched brass in 0.3mm (12thou)
The etches are a direct reduction of the 7mm art-work, with some modification, and all that implies (if in doubt please ask)
External framing formed from a layer(s) of 0.3mm material
Castings supplied for buffers, springs and axles boxes in a general format from our 4mm castings
Castings can be used as is or modified
Decals, of our own production, for RVR, K&ESR and HMST are also included
Internal detailing - this is in the form of simple etches and includes seating, partition, desk,
shelf etc. where appropriate
Comprehensive instructions (per 7mm kit) with drawings and photographs of the prototype are included, including on CD
This kit specification (slightly different from our usual small scale kits) is at the request of OO/HO modellers and is such to
reduce development cost
