    This Steam And Things kit is for a 6-wheel 'Standard' Iron Luggage Van of 1852 that was listed under passenger stock and twelve were built by Messrs. Vulcan. All stock was condemned between 1886 and 1892.

    They were approximately (just over) 27 foot long and had three compartments. The grease axle boxes held splayed ten spoke wheels of four foot diameter.

    This is a body kit ONLY , but we have also supplied W-irons to BGS specification. At present the kit is only available in 4mm scale, but 7mm is certainly a possibility, subject to firm orders.

    Specification for 4mm is as follows:

  • Etched brass in 0.3mm (12thou)
  • Etches only; castings not available from us
  • Thirteen different parts (not including multiple; total of just over 20)
  • Parts include: sides, ends, roof, floor, solebars, overlays, lamp irons, steps, hinge strip
  • 3-link type coupling etches (our own product) are also included
  • Axle gaurds to BGS specification are supplied
  • Comprehensive instructions with drawings

    • We understand that the BGS (Broad Gauge Society) specification sheet is BGdata 149.

    7mm specification will be identical.
